Oh man, I love this photo shoot!
We headed up north for this styled - love - inspired photo shoot to document some of that creepy love.
Tabitha and Nick are both Seattle-based Actors. They met on set, and they worked so well together that we decided to do a creative concept shoot at one of Washington State's most awesome abandoned sites.
It was very cold, and also a total blast. It was as if they were the last people on earth.
This story is about love. The eternal kind of love, the kind that you search for...even after death.
Tabitha and Rachel and I decided to do a Halloween themed shoot at the Snoqualmie Tunnel.
It's the perfect location because you can shoot there in the rain, and the light is beautiful.
Rachel attacked the styling of this shoot and I am grateful to her!
Check out her work here.
We imaged their train was derailed and they wandered to an abandoned tunnel for shelter from the rain and cold.
But the tunnel was all but shelter, it changed them into something else altogether.... something frighting.
Thank you for looking!
My muse Rachel Dooley and I decided to head out into the forest before the sun came up to conjure some magic.
Dark Magic or light happy magic? Well we like to do both, but this one was a little on the darker side.
Rachel Dooley is an exceptional subject to work with. She blows me away with her contribution to the story. She takes a tiny bit of direction from me- and she runs with it.
She puts a ton of soul into each shoot we've done so far. We laugh a lot.
We met this lovely morning on Alki Beach just as the sun was rising.
A Queen washes up on an island. She doesn't remember who she is or where she's going. She does not remember where she came from.
She can only feel her power getting stronger.
My dear friend Britt.
She leaves me for her homeland Australia once again.
But I won't let her go without something to remember me by, no way. An adventure to hold us over until she returns next summer.
We decided on a mini road trip to SQUAMISH, B.C.
It's hard to narrow down the photographs we made on this trip to a tiny little blog post.
I could talk about friendship and the bond I have with this woman and how much we've been through together.
I could talk about the the places we visited in this beautiful area.
I could tell you stories of how we imagined each shoot and made them into fruition....
but that would be a very long blog post.
Check out the trip below.
Everything was shot in Squamish, with the exception of the last set at the end-which we shot on the way back home to Seattle at the Sedro-Wooley Abandoned dairy farm, built by the patients who inhabited the Northern State Mental Hospital.
Love you Britt!
When my Friend Mark Hubbard suddenly passed away recently, I wanted to make some photographs that touched on all of the feelings that surround death.
Nothing is real, you feel angry, heartbroken, lost, you want tell them something.
Frustration, defeat, love, beauty, gratitude, anger, it's all a part of life.
Sometimes we just need help finding a way to work through those emotions.
Tabitha and I found one way to help us through times of sorrow.
Find the beauty and embrace the darkness.
